Potato Sabzi with a twist

One more dish from my friend, she is an excellent cook and a doting mom of two lovely kids. We are friends from past 19 years and our friendship keeps on getting stronger and stronger.


4-5 potatoes (boiled and mashed)

2-3tbsp cornflour

2 chopped onion

1 big chopped tomato

1 cup green peas


1/2tsp mustard seeds

1tsp urad dal (black gram)

1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

6-7 finely chopped green chillies or (according to taste)

curry leaves (4-5)

1/4tsp turmeric powder


Take oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, once it splutters add jeera, urad dal, green chillies, turmeric powder, curry leaves and fry for a sec. Add cut onion and saute till it turns golden now add green peas and cook for few mins. To this add the mashed potato. Take a bowl and mix the cornflour in approximately a cup of water, make a thin paste and add this to the potato sabzi, add salt according to taste, bring it to boil and switch off the stove. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with poori, chapathi or dosa.
