Peanut Onion Chutney Recipe

I tried this recipe from Hari Chandana’s Indian Cuisine. I love trying different chutney recipes and my son is very fond of groundnut. He loved and relished this chutney.

Ingredients :Peanuts : 1/2 cup
Onion : 1 big or medium size
Mustard Seeds : 1/4 tsp
Dried Chillies : 5 – 6
Tamarind : 1 inch piece
Curry Leaves : 5-6
Hing
Oil : 2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method :

Heat pan and roast the peanut, cool and rub the skins off. Heat 1tsp oil and fry onion till golden color, add red chillies to it and fry it for a min. Cool it and grind it along with the peanuts, tamarind, salt and a little water into a paste.Heat a teaspoon of oil. Add mustard once it stops popping, add curry leaves and hing. Add this seasoning to the chutney and mix well.  Serve with idli, dosa or chapathi. It tasted good with Dosa. For the original recipe click here.
