Bansi Rava/Semolina Green peas Upma

Bansi Rava or semolina is in between broken wheat and normal rava in texture. Bansi rava is made of wheat and tastes good, it is easy available in any grocery shop. Bansi rava upma is easy to prepare and tasty too.


1 cup Bansi Rava/Semolina
2 Onions
2 Tomatoes
1 cup Fresh Green peas
2 to 3 slit Green chillies
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1tsp Chana dal
1tsp Urad dal
1/2 cup Oil
2 1/2 cup Water
2tsp ghee
1tbsp fresh Coriander
1/2 Lime
Curry Leaves
Pinch Turmeric
Salt to Taste


1. Chop the Onions,Tomatoes,Green chilles,Coriander and Keep aside.
2. Heat a pan Fry Bansi rava with 2tsp ghee till light brown and keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, slit green chillies, chana dal, urad dal fry for 1 minute or till the dal turns light brown and then add curry leaves, onions and saute for 2 minute, add green peas fry for some time and then add tomato little turmeric and fry for 2 minutes or till the tomato is well cooked.
4.  Add two and half cup water to it and salt to taste. When the water starts boiling add Bansi rava while stirring continuously or else the rava will form lumps, add lime juice, coriander and simmer for a minute.
